North Carolina summers are humid, and that matters for flooring. Wood expands and contracts with moisture, while vinyl barely moves at all.
Luxury vinyl plank is waterproof, holds up to pets and kids, and works well in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and over concrete slabs. Today's better products look convincingly like wood, and they're forgiving in rooms that see spills.
Hardwood adds warmth and value, and it can be refinished years from now. It does best in living areas and bedrooms with steady humidity, installed over a dry, flat subfloor with the right expansion gaps.
Whatever you choose, the subfloor decides how long it lasts. Crawlspace homes in particular can have moisture issues underneath, so we check moisture and flatness before any install.
Many of our clients use both: hardwood in the main living spaces and luxury vinyl in wet areas. We'll measure, look at your subfloor, and give you a written quote for either.
